Bandelier National Monument

You won’t believe you’re just a few miles from downtown Santa Fe when you descend into Frijoles Canyon and see Bandelier National Monument for the first time. You can walk among (and even climb into) Anasazi homes, view petroglyphs and imagine what life was like for the people who lived in this stunning setting. Nearby, also along Route 4, is Tsankawi, a separate part of Bandelier Monument, where you can trace the footsteps of inhabitants from centuries past, and guide yourself on the trail that circles a mesa with amazing 360-degree views.
